Nora Anne Fantry

Nora Fantry uses gouache and watercolor to describe emotive spaces which often reference the Body, the Spirit, and Devine Feminine. Metaphor is woven throughout these landscapes which depict the Earthly elements (water, fire, earth, air, ether.)
The paintings are not concrete in their imagery, remaining open to interpretation of the viewer. The paintings can be experienced much like one may watch clouds in the sky- with a potential of endless associations Ever transforming and impermanent, we understand that the 'truest' image lies completely in our individual perception.
The paintings have one goal: to change on you.

Nora Fantry lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
In addition to the works on paper, she has a fabric painting practice where she creates streetware and accessories. Using similar imagery, she breaks away from the traditional art making format, and creates paintings that live outside of a rectangle, rather, on the body itself.
